By accessing or using OnyxHome, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
Service Description
OnyxHome is a personal cloud media streaming platform that transforms your computer into a secure media server, enabling you to access your photos, videos, and music from anywhere without relying on third-party cloud services. Your data never leaves your control.
The OnyxHome mobile and desktop applications are clients that connect to the OnyxHome service. Account creation and subscription management occur on our website at apps.mitikasha.com/onyxhome.
Account Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an OnyxHome account
- Accounts are created on our website at apps.mitikasha.com/onyxhome
- You must provide accurate account information
- You are responsible for maintaining account security
- Family member profiles may be created for users of any age
Subscription Tiers
OnyxHome offers the following subscription tiers, managed through our website:
- Free: Local network streaming, single device, ad-supported
- Pro ($4.99/mo): Remote access from anywhere, ad-free, up to 5 devices
- Family ($9.99/mo): 6 family profiles, 3 concurrent streams, parental controls
Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles billing, tax compliance, and payment processing on our behalf. By subscribing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service.
Subscriptions are managed at apps.mitikasha.com/onyxhome/account. No purchases occur within the mobile or desktop applications.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have legal rights to stream your media content
- Maintaining your own media server hardware
- Securing your local network
- Managing family member access appropriately
Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use OnyxHome to stream content you do not have rights to
- Share your account with users outside your household
- Attempt to circumvent device limits or restrictions
- Use the service for commercial purposes
- Reverse engineer or modify the application
Content Responsibility
OnyxHome does not host, store, or have access to your media content. You are solely responsible for the legality and appropriateness of content in your media library.
Hardware Requirements
OnyxHome requires you to run a media server on your own hardware. We do not provide hardware or guarantee compatibility with all devices. Minimum requirements are listed in our documentation.
Remote Access
Remote access features (Pro and Family plans) require proper network configuration. We provide relay servers for connectivity but cannot guarantee performance. Quality depends on your internet connection speed.
Service Availability
Local streaming functionality does not depend on our servers and is always available. Remote access features are provided on a best-effort basis.
Limitation of Liability
OnyxHome is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:
- Media playback issues or quality degradation
- Hardware failures or data loss
- Network connectivity problems
- Content stored on your devices
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account page. Upon cancellation, local streaming features remain available.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
